Small Talk Six at MomDot
Come join in the fun each Saturday for Mom Dot's Small Talk Six; where participants are asked to list six sentences, six photos, or six paragraphs on a specified subject.

From the Mom Dot website: "All you need to do is...make a short (or an elaborate) post on your blog in response to the assigned topic of the week...When your post is live, come leave your direct link on Mr. Linky and then go see how the other participants responded on their blogs."

This week's topic is 6 pieces of advice that you think are obvious, but some people just need to hear:

  1. Those of us with "extra padding" weren't meant to wear midriff tops; especially when coupled with hip hugger jeans.

  2. Your child is in high school, you're not. Step back, it's his/her time to shine.

  3. Duct tape can fix anything.

  4. Only you are responsible for your own happiness.

  5. Don't be so critical of our senior citizens; you will one of them someday.

  6. Don't focus so much on what others are doing wrong, but on what is right in your own life.

Love number 6, it seems too many focus on what others lives instead of their own. They'd be much happier if they focused more on their own life.

It's hard not to be critical of the senior citizens when they're so dang cranky. I've come across so many that seem to forget they were 20, 30, 40, etc. at one time too.

My favorite is definitely number 6. People really need to follow this.

So true about duct tape. Not the cheap stuff either.

I cannot tell you how many parents think they are in high school with their kids. They even shop in the juniors department.

I love number two. None of my kids are in High School, but I have friends who have kids who are. It amazes me how much they try to be just like their kids! They even try to be buddy buddy with their child friends! Incredible!

Anyway thanks for the list!

do not necesarily agree with number 2 while they must shine on their own I believe parents input is still needed

Duct tape really can fix anything (right up there with safety pins and staples).
